Is anybody else getting tired of this chick?

Post by djangoentertainment » Fri May 15, 2009 3:02 am

The person I speak of is the lesbian who does the column every week in the LEO about gay/lesbian issues. Most of you I imagine stopped reading right about the point I said "LEO" but for all of you who are still reading, pick up this weeks issue. First line of the article "I'm so over straight people" She presents good arguements, but goddamn is she snarky.

Kate was one of my best friends in high school, so no, I'm not "getting tired" of her.

I did, I just haven't memorized every ancient pop culture reference like Mike has.

If you think she's snarky, you have really missed out. I haven't read the article in question yet, but she's relatively tame overall I think.

I'm curious as to why you think most of us would have stopped reading when you wrote "LEO". Do you believe that the forum is mostly conservatives? Mostly illiterates? Mostly web-only readers/dwellers? I'm not trying to bust your balls, just wondering.

I think that, like a lot of LEO writers, she takes 500 words to say what could be said in 200 or less.

I wouldn't call it a pop culture reference. A colloquialism, I guess, or slang, rather. To "steal" someone is to punch them, as in "I stole him in his jaw."

I agree. But I ain't paid to write. Obviously.

I especially don't know how much I'd want to write about my own sexuality- but, given the continually ass-backwards politics surrounding homosexuality, I guess there is still plenty to write about.

By the way, what do gay people eat? I might invite some of them to X-mas dinner. She needs a Q&A section...

Good thing for me the record reviews generally are 150 words or less!

Just FYI, using a fairly objectifying, chauvinistic term like "chick" when describing a lesbian generally doesn't enhance your argument significantly...

As a male.. i often feel objectified when called "cat" by jazz musicians, beatniks and Lenny Kravitz.

I guess it was just a thing at my school, because nobody seems to have ever heard this one but me, but in middle school I always loved it when someone made reference to someone else having a "Half-eaten dunkin' stick head".
It's all illusory. It's ill and it's for losers.
