it's in utica, indiana, one town east of jeffersonville, just north of the river. straight shot. really pretty, but it's private property in development for a gated community, so they keep a pretty tight seal on it at night.

I just Googled this place because I had never heard of it... Looks pretty wicked -- definitely gonna have to check it out in the near future.

Yeah I was in the same boat, got a day trip planned now. Also reminded me I haven't been to the breaking away quarry in awhile, probably time to hit that up.

I HIGHLY recommend going this Saturday night, July 3rd, for their annual Independence Day festivities. The races will be comprised of the usual Figure 8 and oval, but in addition will feature the incredibly entertaining (if not absolutely ridiculous) School Bus figure 8 races, Boat/Trailer Race (where they race around the track with boats and/or trailers attached to their vehicles), Chain 8 (multiple cars chained together while racing), and the Blind Driver Race! Last time I saw them do the Blind Driver Race, the driver was given a bag to cover his head while someone in the passenger seat told him when to turn... Full on disaster, but incredible fun to watch. Decent prices on hot dogs, nachos and cheese, pickles, treats, and ice-cold yellow fizzy beer. Some of the best people watching this side of the Mason-Dixon line, too. I can't recommend this place enough!

BIG bump for this taking place tonight... races start at 7:00 but I highly recommend trying to get there closer to 6:00-6:15.

Some classic Figure 8 mashups!

Poor video quality of boat racin' -- there's nothing 'neck about it.

I have to add to this list: Charlestown Pizza Company (850 Main St., in Charlestown, IN). Delicious, and very worth the 20-30 minute drive.

A few other things I didn't see mentioned:
Polly's Freeze - Georgetown
Honey Creme Donuts - New Albany
Huber's - especially in the Fall
and the view of Louisville from Floyds Knobs

I like this joint as well and I dont mean this as a knock but it's the same recipe as RichO's and most have an easier time getting to RichOs.

I like Pizza King because it makes me feel like I am in a bowling alley that really wants to be a porno store with an oven. It's kinda gross and the ambiance is oppressive with the high I can't see anything booths but something about it is so HOOSIER... I dunno I can hang there for lulz and grease. A good dive bar where everything is in squares.
