The Amash amendment was to DEFUND the NSA's phone spying program, not to preserve it.

In the link you provided it says "Question: On agreeing to the Amendment" at the top. Here's Amash's amendment:

So in reality Yarmuth did the opposite: he voted "to end authority for the blanket collection of records under the Patriot Act. It would also bar the NSA and other agencies from using Section 215 of the Patriot Act to collect records, including telephone call records."

Links, den roten Blitz. Rechts, den schwarzen Stern.
Unsere Schreie sind so laut, unser Tanz ist so wild.
Ein neuer, böser Tanz. Alle gegen Alle!

Whoa....thanks for posting that.
The story I had read, which the link came from, had said the exact opposite.
Like - the ayes were for keeping the funding in place/keeping the status quo.

I stand corrected, and glad to be so.
A relief.

Yes, thanks for the correction...is there any way to amend the subject line of this thread...to diffuse the ammo available to the lying internet?

I had my initial doubts about Yarmuth...rich kid with nothing better to do...but the fucker has turned into the Bernie Saunders--nay, the Dennis Kucinich--of the South.

In the sad state where Mitch the Bitch is challenged by ALG...who immediately expressed displeasure over unnamed aspects of health care reform (I'm assuming she's not referring to the death of the single payer option, whereby our country would join the rest of the big boy nations and cut the insurance companies out of the loop) and babbled on about protecting coal, as if that paycheck was still around.

Man, friends of mine elsewhere wonder what's up with KY. Mitch and Rand? What can I explain, beyond the hopeful note of Yarmuth? Meth and the Oxy?
