marvel comics: civil war

Post by awesomesmasher » Tue Jan 29, 2008 5:58 pm

i'm trying to figure out how the non-comic buying public (read: you don't go to the comic shop every wednesday) felt about this comic event. a lot of the hardcore fans hated. i liked it. what did you guys think?

i actually just read this the other day and enjoyed it. and i haven't read a super-hero comic, or many comics in general, for many years too.

overrall: yes.

the art was fucking awesome the entire time.
the book was good through issue 4 i think. if that's the one that has the new thunderbolts team on the last page, that's where it stopped being tight. the punisher/cap fight was stupid. cap surrendering was fucking stupid as well.

as much as it is a convoluted fucking mess, i'd rather read infinite crisis.

I thought the parts that I read were pretty good. I have only read a few of the compiled ones that have several issues bundled together. I don't really read comics that much anymore. Whenever I start buying them I end up spending about $100 a month on them so I have been avoiding the comic shop lately.

I enjoyed it. The only time I still get into comic books these days is when they have big events like Civil War and I have to say I was not disappointed.
