The Official Cahoots Show Booking Thread

Post by ManDudeGuyBro » Fri Jan 21, 2011 3:33 pm

Hello all.

I have recently taken on the task of doing a lion's share of the show booking at Cahoots (which is getting an upgrade with a new stage/sound system in the back room by mid February!) If you are in a band or know any bands that need a place to play, you can post on this thread or email me directly at cahootslouisvillebooking@gmail.com. Please include a link your bands music, other bands you'd with to play with in and around the area, what date you wanna play and any other request or questions you might have. 2011 is going to be a unforgettable year as far as Cahoots shows go. Rock.

i wish there was a way to have all ages shows there. like sunday matinees or maybe like the rud does and have it all ages before 9pm and only have one of the bars (the front one open)

also, word is a stage is being built?
in spite of the things you want, you will get what you're due

I already sent an e-mail to you but havn't heard back yet. Anyway, meek is murder (ex-the red chord) is looking for a show on 3/21 in Louisville. Can Cahoots host a show that day?

We never been to Louisville so if there are any local bands reading this, we'd love to play with you!

We're also down to play anywhere else, especially all ages.

I recently dropped a demo cd into the night box, of my punk band, Spiders 4 Eyes. None of those recordings are going to be on the 7", that will be out very soon. But I do have those recordings, and I'd be willing to post a song or something, if I could figure out how to do it. We would love most to play with Teeth of Straight A's, or anyone who will play with us. And we can pretty much do it whenever. But if you need more info, or anything, you can respond to this, or email me directly at lordofsuperhell@hotmail.com. Thank you - Johny

I'm Trying to get a show booked at Cahoots for April 17th. The band is Cutthroat Shamrock, who asked us to open for them. Since they're currently on tour, I agreed to find a venue. You can hear their music on their myspace page:
http://www.myspace.com/cutthroatshamrock

As for us, The Hudsuckers, we have yet to finish recording our demo, but there is a video of our opening song on our facebook wall, with more videos soon to come. With April right around the corner, I need to find a venue quick, so haste is thoroughly appreciated. Thanks.

Hey guys,

I recently put a fuck done of shows on the Cahoots calender for April/May/June. Please use the cahootslouisvillebooking@gmail.com email. Its easier for me to keep tabs on all the show request and it alerts my phone when I get an email. Also, if you haven't stopped by Cahoots, the new stage is fucking AWESOME! My expectations where blown way out of the water. It still needs to be painted black and treated but it totally rocks. Coming soon: Sub speakers, sound booth, and a street art mural in the hallway.

Also, I AM LOOKING FOR HELPERS WITH RUNNING SOUND/DOOR, AND MAKING FLYERS. We need graphic artist to make fliers on the fly and techy people to run the sound (which is damn near the easiest thing in the world) and the door. You will get a little cash at the end of the night and a few drinks. Send an email with your phone number, any samples of your art/fliers, and what you would like to help out with to the cahoots email address.

Thanks!

Have you found a slot for us, as we have been asking for a few months?
As far as making flyers, I would be happy to make some! I do some pretty crazy art pieces, and the few flyers I have made for shows really stand out well, in my opinion, compared to many. Neil Dyer also does some cool flyers and so does Pat Thompson.

What's the link to the Cahoots calendar?

FYI, Cutthroat Shamrock is amazing. I highly recommend checking them out if you haven't heard them before. Watching them is even more amazing.

We are pretty booked up till the middle of August as of right now. Thank you to all of the bands that sent in there request. I have tried to reply back to as many as I can. We are working on an official Cahoots website that will have a calender listing all upcoming show dates. Some bands to look forward to that are playing within the next 2 months: Rightgeous Wrongs, Bu Hao Ting, Daikaiju, Anwar Sadat, Buildings, Canyons of Static, Karass, Community College, Tidal Arms, Drummers, WAXEATER, Prideswallower, Maltross Rvins, The Men, Police Teeth, and ifIhadaHiFi. Still need voluneers to help make fliers and run the door/sound on occasion.

Hey Eliot-

We're looking for a show on August 4. We'll be on tour with our friends Tiger Flowers. Any chance you can take some time off from being super handsome and help us with a show :)

From Eric Snider, concerning Cahoots shows -
"There's a set up tear down fee of $60 now due to the fact that it's a lot of work to set up and tear down the stage, PA, and all the tables."
