History Wiki status

Post by flexyournoggin » Sat Nov 24, 2007 4:36 am

The History section is now locked until I can do the following:
A) Clean up the massive amounts of Spammer bullcrud
B) Install and implement a captcha system for account logins.

Once these things are in place, I will make it so that your account must be more than 4 days old to create/edit pages (just like WIkipedia).

I have to admit, I haven't stayed on top of the history much since the rest of the site has been up and down. I'd prefer to only work on the history and have someone younger and more knowledgeable take over the rest, but such is life....

THE HISTORY SHOULD NOW BE UNLOCKED, BUT WITH NEW ANTI-SPAM MEASURES IN PLACE. GIVE IT A TRY.

Are you logged in? It sounds like one of the security measures I put in place to block the spam attacks. PM me if you are still having troubles.

actually, it's more like this....

He came from somewhere back in her long ago
The sentimental fool dont see
Tryin hard to recreate
What had yet to be created once in her life

She musters a smile
For his nostalgic tale
Never coming near what he wanted to say
Only to realize
It never really was

She had a place in his life
He never made her think twice
As he rises to her apology
Anybody else would surely know
Hes watching her go

But what a fool believes he sees
No wise man has the power to reason away
What seems to be
Is always better than nothing
And nothing at all keeps sending him...

Somewhere back in her long ago
Where he can still believe theres a place in her life
Someday, somewhere, she will return

She had a place in his life
He never made her think twice
As he rises to her apology
Anybody else would surely know
Hes watching her go

But what a fool believes he sees
No wise man has the power to reason away
What seems to be
Is always better than nothing
Theres nothing at all
But what a fool believes he sees...

Under national acts at Pandamonium, please add The Slackers. I really liked those guys. Very professional, and as interested in their sound as I was.
Under Local stuff, B.S.P. (Blitzkrieg Sucker Punch) was an interesting, if short-lived band.

You add it. That's the point of a wiki.

Finally fixed a LOT of the broken images last night. Also did some minor formatting changes/updates. Cleaned out some lingering spam.

For some reason, it still just takes me back to the home page when I click "edit." I think I can edit bands, but not people for some reason...

What browser/OS are you using? It may be a javascript error if you're using an older version of IE.
I have a system update sitting there ready to go up, I just keep forgetting to install it.

As some people have noted, the "edit" links aren't working properly at the moment (again). I'm going to upgrade the software a bit, and the history may be down sporadically over the next several days. So don't be too surprised if you not only can't edit, but you can't add anything or even view some pages. Hopefully this weekend I can do some more minor design upgrades as well to help formatting.

BTW, the history is back up, all function links (like Edit) should be working again. I'm looking into upgrading the editor area to use a WYSIWYG editor extension to help make shit easier.
